When shipping actually starts

International shipping is not part of the first product payment. It begins when stored warehouse items are selected and submitted as a parcel.

If an item is still purchasing, in transit to the warehouse, or stuck in after-sales, it generally cannot be packed yet.

The shipping workflow

1. Review stored items

Open My Warehouse and confirm:

  • every item you want is present
  • QC photos are acceptable
  • remarks such as remove box or vacuum bag are decided before submission when the line allows them

2. Create the waybill

Enter the recipient name, phone, and address exactly as the carrier and destination customs forms expect. Small address mistakes cause expensive delays.

3. Compare lines

Look beyond the cheapest estimate:

  • prohibited or restricted categories
  • battery / liquid / shoe-box rules
  • tracking detail
  • whether tax handling is included or separate
  • insurance options and exclusions

Compare the final payable estimate for your exact product mix. A line that is inexpensive for clothing may reject batteries, liquids, fragile goods, or another restricted category.

4. Pay the estimate, then settle

Help tutorials describe paying an estimated freight amount first. After packing, the actual charge is reconciled. Extra balance is typically refunded to the account; shortfalls need another payment.

How Oopbuy shipping cost is calculated

The main variables are:

  • destination country and postcode
  • selected carrier or route
  • scale weight
  • parcel dimensions and volumetric weight
  • packaging and optional services
  • product restrictions or special handling

Carriers often charge the greater of actual scale weight and a formula based on parcel volume. Shoe boxes, puffer jackets, backpacks, and loose packaging can raise billable weight even when the products are not physically heavy.

Use the live estimation tool before submitting, then treat the warehouse-packed total as the final calculation.

How to choose a shipping line

Check at least:

  1. whether the line accepts every item in the parcel
  2. estimated price after packing and available discounts
  3. tracking quality
  4. destination and customs handling
  5. insurance availability and exclusions
  6. whether speed matters enough to justify a higher price

Do not select solely from a published delivery-success percentage or old community price example.

5. Track the parcel

Once handed to the carrier, follow updates in the shipment / waybill area and on the carrier side when a tracking number appears.

Packaging choices that change cost and risk

Saved packaging guidance commonly discusses:

  • simple packaging or vacuum options for clothing on some lines
  • carton packing for shoes and heavier goods
  • removing shoe boxes to reduce volumetric weight
  • extra protection for fragile goods
  • splitting parcels when weight, quantity, or product type raises inspection risk

These are operational choices, not tax-avoidance tricks. Declare accurately and follow the line rules.

The dedicated packaging, restrictions and insurance guide explains those decisions in more detail.

Transit expectations

Do not anchor on a single “always X days” claim. Public help articles have used both shorter and longer ranges depending on context. Your live line card and destination matter more than any blog example.

Use Oopbuy’s estimation page and the current line list before you commit.

Transit can be affected by seller delays before warehouse intake, parcel processing, flights, customs inspection, local carrier handover, holidays, and weather. Count international delivery time from carrier handoff, not from the day you first paid for the product.

Customs and declarations

International parcels can be inspected. Duties, taxes, return-to-sender costs, and fines are generally the buyer’s responsibility according to saved help principles. Continue with How to declare for the parcel form side of the process.

Tracking and parcel exceptions

After dispatch, use the waybill page and carrier tracking number. A short period without scans can occur during international transfer. If tracking stops beyond the carrier’s normal window, preserve the waybill, payment record, product list, packaging photos, and tracking screenshots before contacting support.

Shipping readiness checklist

  • All selected items are stored and QC-approved
  • Address and phone number verified
  • Line restrictions checked against your product mix
  • Packaging options chosen intentionally
  • Freight estimate and currency understood
  • Declaration fields prepared honestly

FAQ

Because the final bill depends on what you ship together, how it is packed, and which line you choose. The first checkout covers the goods and domestic delivery into the warehouse only. After items are stored and QC-approved, you create a waybill, pay an estimated freight deposit, and settle any difference once packing is finished.

Cost is usually driven by destination, shipping line, actual scale weight, volumetric weight, packaging options, and any special handling. Carriers often charge the greater of scale weight and volume-based weight, so shoe boxes, puffers, and backpacks can raise the bill even when the products feel light. Use the live estimation tool, then treat the packed warehouse total as final.

Compare more than the cheapest estimate. Check whether the line accepts every item in the parcel, tracking quality, destination coverage, tax handling, insurance exclusions, and expected transit. A low-priced clothing route may reject batteries, liquids, or fragile goods. If one item blocks the cheapest line, either remove it, split the haul, or choose a compatible route.

No. Public help pages have listed different day ranges in different places. Transit depends on the selected line, destination, customs inspection, carrier handoff, holidays, and seasonal congestion. Count delivery time from carrier dispatch, not from the day you first paid for the product, and use the live line card as the best current estimate.

A short gap can happen during international transfer. First check the waybill status and carrier tracking number, then wait through the line’s normal silent window. If updates remain stuck, save screenshots, the waybill number, product list, and payment record before contacting support. Customs holds, return-to-sender, or suspected loss usually need that evidence before investigation or insurance claims can proceed.
